OYO

(2013-curret) is a collborative project in which artists from the filmwerkplaats collective intervene into public space, projecting custom-made and site-specific films at outdoor locations. It is a reinvention of the avant-garde film concept of “expanded cinema”: Like in the classical expanded cinema of experimental filmmakers and visual artists in the 1960s/70s, multiple simultaneous projection is being used a performative medium. This puts an end to the traditional form of film as a finished, closed work. The Filmwerkplaats collective makes films that are custom made for each situation. The experience that is collected in this experimental practice is often used for future workshops and publications.
